P-Graphs are capable of unambiguously representing process structures, e.g., sequential, parallel, and alternative activities. In addition to graphical representation the P-Graph framework provides a set of rigorous and effective algorithms for business process synthesis and optimization. These algorithms are available at the website <www.p-graph.com>. The proposed methodology is been demonstrated by solving a typical strategic decision support problem, i.e. the conceptual design of a supply chain. A considerable advantage of the presented methodology is its potential for solving large industrial problems that has been demonstrated by applying it to various process engineering problems, see further references.
